Tbt the whole reason why the “Is TNBC a Halloween or Christmas movie?” question annoys me so much is because how far the casuals have fucking taken it. You all could have stopped there. You could have just taken it as a joke and have a lighthearted laugh and think, “oh, how funny, that movie DOES have both holidays!” And move on.

But you didn’t. People took it as a debate worth fucking having that it went ALL the way to Nightmare’s director, Henry Selick, to answer this joke of a debate and say that it is a Halloween movie. Y'all could have just sat there and enjoyed TNBC for what it was, but no. You wanted an answer to what I consider the most pointless question about this goddamned movie. So you got it.

But, Rainbow, it’s just a joke!!” Haha, yeah, and it was funny the FIRST GODDAMNED TIME I HEARD IT. It’s hard not to get annoyed by it when you see this question hundreds of times, all of which are asked by casuals who aren’t even IN the fandom.

The fact that Henry even HAD to answer this question is so fucking ridiculous. The movie stars both Christmas and Halloween in the entirety of its film - the focus fluctuates between the two, they’re combined, and celebrated differently in all their glory. How someone perceives this movie, how they enjoy it, what they choose to see it as, should be up to the audience. Is it such a sin for a movie to have more than one holiday? Was it absolutely necessary to slap a label onto Nightmare? Answer: No. It wasn’t.

So do yourself a favor this Halloween/Christmas season and let people enjoy The Nightmare Before Christmas the way they want to. And for god’s sake, DON’T ask if its a Halloween or Christmas movie. You are NOT the first person to ask that. Just…don’t. It’s annoying.

He looks stunning. I really like the perfection of this model, if only it was the actual puppet.
